APC Internet Rights Charter

Resolutions and Declarations

The APC Internet Rights Charter underlines that Internet is a global public space that must be open, affordable and accessible to all. As such, it can contribute to the promotion of human rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention of the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

The Charter addresses seven themes, namely: Internet access, freedom of expression and association, access to knowledge, shared learning and creation, privacy, surveillance and encryption, governance of the Internet as well as awareness, protection and realisation of rights online.
