World Information Technology Forum 2016

The sixth edition of the World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR) will take place on 12-14 September 2016, in San Jose, Costa Rica.

WITFOR has been held every two years, since 2003, and is organised by the International Federation for Information Processing, in cooperation with various stakeholders in the host country.

WITFOR 2016 aims to bring together members of the ICT community from governments, academica, industry and associations, to discuss recent proposals aimed to reach the sustainable development goals, to improve global conditions by reducing poverty and hunger, achieving universal education, promoting gender equality, ensuring environmental sustainability, combating diseases and reducing mortality. The Forum's programme includes sessions on a variety of issues, such as: digital equity, telecenters, mobile Internet, women's integration into the digital technologies sector, e-government, online education, smart cities, 3D printing and natural user interfaces, e-commerce, the sharing economy, etc.
