Russian Internet Governance Forum 2017

Innopolis, Russia

The 8th annual meeting of the Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF) will be held on 7 April 2017, in the city of Innopolis, Tatarstan. The event is hosted by the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ and supported by the  Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC).

The forum will feature disscussions on new trends in Internet governance and challenges facing those involved in this process. Some of the topics to be addressed include information security, regional aspects of Internet governance, international cooperation and technological innovations. Experts from Russia, China, the US and European countries will talk about who should be playing a more active role in global Internet governance, and what can be done to engage new stakeholders.

The overall aim of the forum is to get more local actors involved in global Internet governance processes. To this aim, it will bring together experts from Russian, China, US, and European countries, who will talk about who should be playing a more active role in global Internet governance, and what can be done to engage new stakeholders.
