The 71st meeting of the North American Operators Group (NANOG) will be held on 2–4 October 2017, in San José, California, USA. NANOG 71 is being organised in partnership with Equinix.

The meeting will bring together the Internet engineering community in North America, for three days of discussions and exchange of experiences on issues such as network connectivity, interconnection, and architecture; network managemenet; data centers; routing and switching protocols; wireless networks; the Domain Name System; optical and transmission technologies; Internet governance. The agenda of the event will include: plenary presentations on operation issues of concern to Internet backbone operators; tutorials on certain topics of interest for network operators; and Birds of a Feather (BOFs) focused on egineering problems and technical issues.

The three-day event will be preceded by two other events – the 27th workshop of the Domain Name System Operations, Analysis, and Research Center (DNS-OARC), on 29–30 September 2017, and the NANOG 71 Hackathon on 1 October 2017.
