The 2016 edition of the ITU Telecom World will be held on 14-17 November 2016, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event, organised by ITU Telecom (part of the International Telecommunication Union), will bring together digital start-ups, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry, regulatory authorities, industry leaders, consultants and experts from emerging and developed markets around the world, to discuss and exchange experiences on the use of ICT innovations for social and economic development.
Focusing on the digital economy and SMEs, ITU Telecom World 2016 will combine an exhibition for digital solutions, a forum for sharing knowledge and debating core issues affecting the ICT industry, a networking hub for nations, organisations, and individuals, and an Award programme which recognises global excellence in innovation for social impact.
The ITU Telecom World 2016 Forum will put an emphasis on the increasing importance of collaboration in advancing the digital economy, as well as driving sustainable, global ICT growth. A Leadership Summit and a Ministerial Roundtable will launch the discussions, bringing together high level participants from government, industry, and SMEs, to discuss issues related to the importance of international partnerships to help extend the socio-economic benefits of ICTs. Panel debates, keynote, and other sessions during the forum will focus on the following main topics: access, technology, innovation, policy issues, and sustainable development goals.
