ITU Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations – 3rd Meeting

The third meeting of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations (EG-ITRs) will be held on 17–19 January 2018, at the ITU Headquarters, in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting is open to ITU member states and sector members.

The EG-ITRs was established on the basis of the ITU Council Resolution 1379, adopted at the 2016 session of the Council. Open to all ITU member states and sector members, the group is tasked with reviewing the 2012 ITRs, taking into account news trends in telecommnications and information and communications technologies, emerging issues and obstacles that may arise from the implementation of the 2012 ITRs and WCIT-12 Resolutions and Recommendations. 

The Group is expected to prepare a final report to the 2018 session of the ITU Council, for submission to the 2018 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference. The January meeting will therefore focus on discussions on the Draft Final Report and related inputs received from member states and sector members.
