IGF 2015: Second Open Consultations, MAG Meeting

The second Open Consultations and Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) meeting in the IGF 2015 preparatory process will take place on 20-22 May 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland. The MAG's role is to advise the Secretary General on the programme and schedule of  the Internet Governance Forum meetings. The tenth annual IGF meeting is scheduled to take place in João Pessoa, Brazil, on 10-13 November 2015.

The theme of this year's IGF is 'Evolution of Internet Governance: Empowering Sustainable Development', and is supported by eight sub-themes that will frame the discussions at the João Pessoa meeting: Cybersecurity and trust; Internet economy; inclusiveness and diversity; openness; enhancing multistakeholder cooperation; Internet and human rights; critical Internet resources; and emerging issues.

The MAG comprises of 55 Members from governments, the private sector and civil society, including representatives from the academic and technical communities. The MAG holds face-to-face meetings up to three times a year; these meetings are preceded by open consultations meetings. More details about MAG members responsibilities and group procedures can be found in the MAG Terms of Reference.

The first Open Consultations and MAG Meeting in the IGF 2015 preparatory process took place on 1-3 December 2014, in Geneva, Switzerland. These consultations also took stock of the IGF 2014 meeting, looking at what worked well and what did not.
