EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC)

15 May 2022 - 16 May 2022

France

The EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will convene the second ministerial meeting on 15 and 16 May in France.

The EU-US TTC inaugural meeting took place in September 2021 in Pittsburgh and outlined the tasks for the TTC collaboration across 10 TTC Working Groups, which are chaired by relevant U.S. agencies and European Commission services. These working groups focus on tech standards, climate and green tech, secure supply chains, information and communications technology and services (ICTS) security and competitiveness, data governance and tech platform regulation, misuse of technology threatening security and human rights, export controls, investment screening, promoting SME access to and use of digital technologies, and global trade challenges.

The second meeting will build on the progress done so far towards more concrete actions especially on:

  • third country cooperation
  • artificial intelligence and emerging technology
  • supply chain security
  • sustainability and energy security
  • conformity assessment and mutual recognition agreements and
  • stakeholder engagement.

Ahead of the meeting, Business Europe and the United States Chamber of Commerce have published a joint statement that can be read here.
