Digital Assembly 2017

15 Jun 2017 - 16 Jun 2017

Valletta, Malta

The Digital Assembly 2017 will take place on 15-16 June in Valletta, Malta, and will be co-organised by the European Commission and the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The event will give stakeholders an opportunity to debate, take stock, and look ahead at how Europe and its partners around the world are preparing for the digital transformation. There will also be discussions on the benefits of the Digital Union for citizens, with a special focus on younger generations.

The Assembly will start in the afternoon of 15 June with a high-level open ceremony, and an international panel discussion. On 16 June, a plenary session will be devoted to listening and discussing the expectations and ideas for the digital economy and society of younger generations, while four parallel workshops will tackle issues related to the digital transformation, cybersecurity (from critical infrastructures to Internet of Things devices), digital opportunities and digital disruptions, and the data economy.
