Central Asian Internet Governance Forum 2017

The second annual meeting of the Central Asian Internet Governance Forum (CAIGF-2017) will be held on 22-23 June 2017, at the Serena Hotel, Dushanbe. The main purpose of CAIGF-2017 is to strengthen the existing public platform for discussion of national policies regarding Internet governance in Central Asia. The forum will address issues related to cybersecurity, Internet freedom and regulation, development of the DNS industry, and access to the Internet as well as global and national approaches to Internet governance.

The forum brings together experts and practitioners from Central Asia and globally to:

  • Assess the continuing development of Internet and its influence on the socio-political and economic changes in the region.
  • Identify the most balanced approaches to political and technical regulation and governance of Internet.
  • Define recommendations for the development of government policies based on the best regional and international practices.

The CAIGF-2017 is organised by the Government of Tajikistan and the Public Fund ‘Civil Internet Policy Initiative’.
