Canadian Internet Forum

Ottawa, Canada

The Canadian Internet Forum (CIF) provides Canadians with an opportunity to have their voice heard about how they want to see it develop. The 2014 edition of the Canadian Internet Forum (CIF) will take place in Ottawa on October 9th.

The CIF is a national discussion about Canada’s Internet future hosted by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) – the member-driven organization that manages .CA and facilitates the development of a better Internet for all Canadians. It consists of in-person meetings, a national event that brings together Canada’s Internet leaders and a year-round discussion in social media on topics of interest to Canadians, including:

  • Digital literacy.
  • Cyber-security.
  • Internet governance.

The CIF reflects Canadians’ attitudes and opinions on Internet governance, digital literacy and cyber-security. The knowledge collected through the CIF is shared through a variety of media, presented to the United Nations - coordinated Internet Governance Forum, and CIRA encourages policy-makers, researchers and the business community to use it in their work.
