*Please note that due to COVID-19, the 2020 WTO Public Forum has been cancelled   The theme of this year's Public Forum is, 'Building on 25 years of the WTO'. Stakeholders from civil society, the private sector, academia, and governments continue to produce important analysis on the past, present, and future of the multilateral trading system. The event will examine the important role the multilateral trading system has played over the past quarter of a century and will look ahead to how the WTO might be strengthened to address existing and future challenges to trade and the global economy, not least unexpected crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will discuss the role governments, businesses, and consumers can play in promoting sustainable trade. In addition to the main theme, the 2020 Public Forum will have three sub-themes relevant to today's trading environment:
  • WTO: Past, present, and future
  • Innovation in the digital age
  • Collective action for sustainable trade
