1st South Sudan Internet Governance Forum

28 Mar 2019

Juba, South Sudan

The 1st South Sudan Internet Governance Forum (SS-IGF) will be held on 28 March 2019 in Juba, South Sudan.

The SS-IGF is a multistakeholder forum for public policy dialogue on Internet governance issues in South Sudan. It brings together all stakeholders in the Internet governance debate (government, private sector, civil society, and the technical and academic communities) on an equal basis and through an open and inclusive process. The SS-IGF identifies existing and emerging Internet-related public policy issues and brings them to the attention of the relevant authorities and the general public, and, where appropriate, makes recommendations to the relevant authorities.

The SS-IGF is part of the hierarchy of Internet Governance Forums (IGF) where at an International level there is the global IGF that was established by the United Nations in July 2006. At a continental level there is the African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF), and at a regional level, the SS-IGF falls under the East Africa Internet Governance Forum (EAIGF).
