The 13th Annual State of the Net Conference will be held on 23 January 2017, in Washington D.C., USA. The event will be hosted by the Internet Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public and policymakers about the potential of a decentralised global Internet to promote communications, commerce, and democracy.
State of the Net will explore a range of issues that the new US Administration and the new Congress will have to grapple with. From telecom in the digital era, to a renewed and pronounced focus on cybersecurity issues, the conference will look at the new players and the new issues that will take center stage. Some of the specific Internet-related topics to be discussed are the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, the Internet-enabled economy, and online radicalisation and fighting terror online.
State of the Net annual events attract over 600 attendees interested in the opportunity to network and engage on key policy issues.
