The 12th Caribbean Internet Governance Forum (CIGF) will be held on 10-12 August 2016, in Belize City, Belize.

The CIGF is a regional, multistakeholder forum initiated in 2005 by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union and the Caribbean Community Secretariat, with the aim to coordinate a regional approach to Internet Governance. The 12th meeting of the Forum will focus on accelerating Internet development in the Caribbean, as well as on advancing the development of strategies and approaches for building and/or strengthening national multistakeholder structures to enhance Internet governance capacity, expertise, and action in the region. The meeting will also aim at exploring and spreading awareness on opportunities for Caribbean growth through the Internet Economy, and at building local capacity in Internet governance to enable and strenghten effective Caribbean representation at global Internet governance fora. 

The agenda of the meeting includes topics such as: cybersecurity, ccTLD operations, local digital content development, broadband access, and affordability.
