10th ETSI Workshop on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)

The 10th European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Workshop on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) will be held during 4-6 March 2019 at the ETSI premises in Sophia Antipolis, France.

To further the European Commission's (EC) 2014 decision on an initiative to create a co-operative ITS (C-ITS) deployment platform in Europe, a report o the phase two of the platform has been completed in September 2017. With said report, the first version of a European-wide security framework, including a common European certification policy was created. A delegated act to allow C-ITS deployment in 2019 is currently in preparation.

The event will provide a status of the ongoing activities to facilitate the deployment of C-ITS in Europe and around the globe. The event will also offer insights into:

• challenges in bringing standardised technologies from paper into operational deployments, such as regulatory, technical, and testing aspects
• works on hybrid solutions including cellular technology with short-range C-ITS communication
• next steps following initial Day 1 C-ITS services through the next phases of C-ITS towards higher degrees of automation, including identifications of technology and regulatory challenges and the need for standardisation

The event will be open to policymakers, decision makers for ITS infrastructure deployments, road operators, traffic and mobility managers, and vehicle and equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
