The 10th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) Summit will be held on 25-27 July 2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The BRICS Summit is convened annually to discuss issues that require political and socioeconomic coordination, in which member countries have identified business opportunities, economic complementarities and areas of cooperation. Through its 2018 chairship, South Africa has identified the following priorities to be addressed:
- establishment of a virtual vaccine research platform for collaboration with BRICS vaccine innovation and development partners
- establishment of a BRICS gender and women’s forum
- establishment of a working group on peacekeeping
- leveraging the strategy for BRICS economic partnership as linked to the fourth industrial revolution
