Google to face investigation in Brazil over child privacy violations

The Brazilian ministry of Justice announced an investigation into Google’s data collection practices targeting children and teenagers for the purpose of advertising. According to ZDNet, the consumer rights department under the country’s Ministry of Justice, Senacom, suspects that Google collects data from underage users such as location, the type of device used as well as phone numbers. This investigation follows the recent Federal Trade Commission’s fine to Youtube in the US over children privacy violations
