The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is a not-for-profit organisation producing recognised standards for information and communications technologies, including fixed, mobile, radio, converged, broadcast and Internet technologies.

Some of the specific areas in which ETSI develops standards include: broadband, cybersecurity, cloud computing, Internet of Things, transition to IPv6, next generation protocols, and smart cities.

In addition to its work on standards development, the institute also published white papers aimed to present information on various technical issues such as: cryptography and security, 5G technologies, interoperability, and technologies for children.
